A perfect day on Sunday 13th August saw Waratah Guides celebrating 47 years of guiding in Coonabarabran. The day began with a hike to the plateau on Timor Rock and a very special Guide Promise ceremony for Emily Turner.
The girls engaged in a delightfully fun wide game where girls worked in teams to achieve 7 challenges focused on caring for a baby… creating a place to sleep, a toy, a dummy, compose a lullaby, a warm bath and a supply of energy in the way of ‘smores’ for those who know what a ‘smore’ is! (So delicious you want ‘some more’)
The flowing creek was a great source of enjoyment for all the girls and for the brothers & sisters at the end of the day when it was almost home time.
Thanks to Brown Owl and Rosella for planning and preparing such a great day, Mr Dow for leading the way up the rock, Helen and all the parents who helped out in various ways on the day!
